Our Sweetheart Of The Game

Most of you know that we were lucky enough to have the sweetest girl come into our lives this past year.  She is a doll and always knows how to put a smile on our faces.  She has helped us in more ways than one to get through some difficult times.  Not only has she been there for Jason and me, but for my parents, Jason's parents and my sisters.  We decided that because she likes hockey so much that her big Christmas gift from all of us was going to go to a Griffins hockey game and to be Sweetheart of the game.  She had no clue that she was going to be sweetheart of the game.  It was a great night!!

Going To The Races

Towards the end of last year Jason and I went with Mom and Dad W. to the Delta Plex to watch Arena Racing.  We  had some family that came along to watch and we also had Ms. Katie with us as well.  We had a great time.  These cars are so tiny!!  It was a trip to watch people get in and out of them.

Happy New Year!!

It's finally 2009!!  We have waited for 2008 to end for a long time now and it finally has come to an end.  When I look back at 2008 it was not that bad of year.  Jason and I did become parents and we found out what the true meaning of the words Love, Friends, Family, Faith, Laugh, Hope and Dreams.  We are ready to see what God has planned for us this year.  On New Years Eve, Jason and I went over to our 3rd families house.  Every year we go over to Dave and Vivian Millers house in Byron Center.  (Lizz's mom and dad's house)  This year I was able to make some food and bring it over seeing how I didn't have to work on New Year's Eve day.  We always have a good time.  It's laid back with lots of food and drinks.  We play cards, play pool, play Wii, chit chat and hang out.  As soon as the clock says 11:50pm we get our hats and party gear and start counting down.  Here are a few pics. from NYE this year.  After the ball dropped Lizz and I had 3 minutes of quiet time so we went into the hot tub and just relaxed and talked.  What a great way to start off 2009.

Sled Wings Vs. Grand Rapids Griffins

Tuesday night we went down to Belknap Park Ice Arena and got to watch our cousin Tyler play hockey against the Grand Rapids Griffins.  The Sled Wings play hockey in Sleds and have a hockey stick that has a pick on one end of the stick and on the other end is the actual stick part that you hit the puck with.  As you can see in the pictures I was able to go in the sled and try it out.  It was a blast.  I was tired and didn't know just how much work it took to be able to move around on the ice.  You need the upper body strength.  It's a great work out for the arms and stomach!!  Terri Sue also went out there and we got to hang out with Tyler on the ice for a while.  Tyler was interviewed by Fox News At 10 last week and was on the news talking smack about the Griffins and how they were going to lose.  He said that the Sled Wings would win 7-0 and they did!!  Tyler scored the first goal.  He was tipping over the Griffins players and making them work for the puck.  He did such a great job....we are so PROUD of him.  In the one picture is just Me and Tyler and the other picture is Terri Sue, Tyler and Me.

Busy Busy..

Just wanted to say that I am still alive and kicking.  I haven't updated the blog in a while.  Things have been crazy for Jason and myself.  We were both laid off from work here in November so we have been looking for jobs and all of the fun stuff that goes along with being laid off.  We now both have a new best friend called MARVIN that we have to call every other week for unemployment.   We both are doing good through all of this.  With the holidays it's been hard because of thinking about the kids and just getting through the holidays with that alone and now we have even more stuff running through our heads...but we will get through it.  We have been through worse this year.  I am just ready to bring in the New Year and start up 2009 and see what happens.  We were planning on doing another transfer in February but I think that will be on hold for a few months.  Jason has been lucky enough to be able to lend a hand to our friend Chad out (Lizz's husband to those of you who know Lizz) in the heating and cooling business so that has been keeping him busy.  We spent some time in Chicago to help out our friends in the Appliance Business going around Chicago and helping repair appliances and all of that fun stuff.  Jason enjoyed it and loved driving around in Chicago traffic.  (Yes, I am being sarcastic) I got to stay back and work in the office and do some paper work.  That was fun.  My fingers were itching to do paper work!  I will be down there again next week helping out so Jason will be home by himself missing me next week.  :)

Happy Halloween

Hope you all had a Happy Halloween. As always Jason and I passed out candy to all of the cute kids. We went through so much candy!! I am so glad that I went and picked up 2 more bags of candy right after work. We only had 4 pieces left over out of over 90 pieces or so and we only had two Twinkies left over. We came home from work and put out our Michigan and Michigan State pumpkins and put the ghost luminaries over our lights and waited for the kids to come over. Halloween is a great day. Reminds me of when my Dad would take us three girls out trick or treating when we were little We would go to Mr. Fables the week before so we could get a kids meal and get a glow in the dark stick that we would put around our neck. I miss the good ol days. (And the Mr. Fabulous and Onion Rings)
